Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease

We provide treatment for people at all stages of Parkinson’s disease.

We help you maintain activity and movement

Research suggests that regular and vigorous exercise may delay the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease, and maintaining or increasing physical activity and exercise can strengthen muscles, improve balance and reduce stiffness.

MyTurn Rehabilitation’s physiotherapists will work with you on a tailored program which can include resistance, balance, cardio-vascular and hand training, as well as training in everyday activities.

Many people with Parkinson’s disease experience falls, and we can teach movement strategies that make it easier for you to move around your home, as well as design home, hydrotherapy and gym-based programs to help you retain as much mobility and independence as possible.

Assessing your balance and mobility, we can establish the causes of any problems identified and set up an appropriate exercise program that improves balance and mobility.
